Built Different

We're not your typical gym - we're a forge where ordinary people become warriors

What We're Really About

Look, we started Pyrelith Vengeforge back in 2018 'cause we were sick of seeing cookie-cutter gyms with fancy equipment that nobody knew how to use properly. We wanted something raw, something real - a place where you'd actually push yourself instead of just taking selfies.

The name? Yeah, it's intense - but that's the point. "Pyrelith" means fire and stone, "Vengeforge" is about channeling that inner fire into something powerful. Every session here is about transformation - not just your body, but your whole mindset.

We've got folks from all walks of life here. Office workers who need to unleash after sitting all day, competitive fighters prepping for bouts, regular people who just wanna feel stronger. What they all have in common? They show up, they work hard, and they don't make excuses.

Our Mission & Philosophy

We believe training should be challenging, purposeful, and honestly... kinda brutal sometimes

Forge Through Fire

Just like metal needs heat to take shape, we believe you've gotta push through discomfort to grow. Our workouts aren't easy - they're designed to test you. But that's where the magic happens. When you're in the middle of a grueling set and your brain's telling you to quit, that's when you're actually becoming stronger.

Warrior Spirit

We're not about creating Instagram fitness models - we're building warriors. That means mental toughness, physical capability, and the kind of confidence that comes from knowing you can handle whatever life throws at you. Every drill, every round, every rep builds that warrior mentality.

Community & Brotherhood

Training here isn't a solo thing. Yeah, you're doing the work, but you're surrounded by people grinding just as hard. We've built something special - a crew that pushes each other, celebrates wins together, and doesn't let anyone slack off. It's accountability with a side of genuine friendship.

Results That Matter

We're not gonna promise you'll look like a superhero in 30 days - that's BS and everyone knows it. What we will promise is that if you show up consistently and give real effort, you'll see real change. Stronger lifts, better endurance, actual functional fitness that translates to everyday life.

Marcus Vengeforge

Marcus "Sledge" Vengeforge

Head Coach & Co-Founder

Been in the strength game for 15 years now. Started with powerlifting, then got into MMA training 'cause I realized just being strong wasn't enough. I wanted to move well, fight well, be an all-around athlete.

These days I run our Olympic lifting and powerlifting programs. Nothing beats seeing someone hit a PR they've been chasing for months - that's what keeps me fired up every morning.

Kara "Ironside" Thorne

MMA & Combat Coach

I've been fighting since I was 16 - Muay Thai, BJJ, boxing, you name it. Had a solid amateur MMA career before I realized I loved teaching more than competing. Now I get to share everything I learned the hard way with people who're hungry to learn.

My classes aren't for the faint of heart. We drill hard, spar harder, and I don't tolerate ego or sloppiness. But I promise you'll leave knowing real technique.

CrossFit & Bootcamp Lead

Former military, spent 8 years in the Canadian Forces where I learned what real conditioning looks like. After I got out, I couldn't find a civilian gym that pushed hard enough, so I got my CrossFit certs and started building brutal workouts.

My Warrior Bootcamp sessions are legendary around here - people either love 'em or they tap out after one class. If you can hang with my programming, you can hang with anything.

Sofia Ember

Sofia "Ember" Chen

Personal Training & Mobility Specialist

I came up through gymnastics and Olympic weightlifting, so I'm all about quality movement and flexibility. Too many people just throw weight around without understanding how their body works - that's how you get injured and plateau.

I work one-on-one with members who need personalized programming or who're rehabbing injuries. My approach mixes strength work with serious mobility and movement patterns that'll keep you healthy long-term.

Gym Equipment

The Facility

Our 8,000 sq ft space in Vancouver's industrial district isn't pretty - it's purposeful. Concrete floors, exposed beams, heavy-duty equipment that can take a beating. We've got everything from Olympic platforms and squat racks to heavy bags and a full-sized competition ring.

The vibe here is raw and unfiltered. No fancy mirrors everywhere, no juice bar, no spa amenities. Just quality equipment, chalk dust in the air, and the sound of metal hitting metal. It's a workspace for people who're serious about getting better.

We did invest in top-tier barbells, bumper plates, and competition-grade gear though - 'cause when you're moving heavy weight or throwing strikes, quality equipment matters. Plus we've got showers that actually work and a solid sound system that keeps the energy high.

What Makes Us Different

01

No Fluff

We don't do gimmicks or trends. Everything we program has a purpose and is backed by actual sports science and years of coaching experience. If it works, we do it. If it's just flashy nonsense, we skip it.

02

Real Coaching

Our coaches actually watch you train and give real feedback. We'll correct your form, push you when you're sandbagging, and dial it back if you're overdoing it. You're not just another membership number here.

03

Community First

Yeah, we talk about being warriors and forging through fire, but at the end of the day we're just a tight group of people who like training hard together. The friendships formed here are legit.
